Well, everyone, it’s that time of year… the most wonderful time of the year! OK, OK, so some may disagree. But I myself am a sucker for the holiday season no matter how you slice it: flavored-coffee-wise, weather-wise, music-wise, decoration-wise, cookie-wise… and of course… the parties!
Whether you’re hosting, guesting or just going out for cocktails, everyone seems to get a little sparklier this time of year. So I thought I’d do a quick “Deco Holiday” post to feature some pretty dresses, shoes and accessories I’ve had bookmarked for a while. This is only part one!
First up, perennial favorites ModCloth (where I myself just purchased my Christmas Eve ensemble). They’ve got vintage styles from every era, but their 1920s inspired deco looks are (of course) my favorite. Like these absolutely perfect “Dazzling Deco” heels in silver and green.
Um… yeah. To die for. Or these lovely flapper inspired dresses, with a little holiday glitz on one and holiday green on the other:

If there’s one thing we know around here (other than weddings!), it’s flapper costumes. Or more accurately, flapper dresses, since we kinda sorta feel they should be worn for any and all special occasions and not reserved for Halloween and costume/fancy dress parties alone. That said, Halloween IS approaching…! So whether you’re in the market …
Tonight, just a little modern flapper fashion to end the weekend…sequins and beads, always a stunner! Flapper inspired dresses are all the rage these days, like this beaded beauty by Rachel Gilbert… Also in love with this gorgeous Alberto Makali black beaded flapper dress: And this Art Deco dress by Anna Sui: Perfection! Today we’re here to shine a spotlight on two of our beloved sponsors here at Deco Weddings: Berlin-based design house Tilda Knopf, established by costume designer Virginie Henzen, and sample-and-preowned wedding dress purveyor Nearly Newlywed. First up we’ve got the (honestly, spectacular) work of Tilda Knopf. We first saw some of these gowns on Instagram …
Sue Wong is a Los Angeles based designer whose 20s-inspired pieces have long been a favorite of art deco obsessed ladies everywhere (including the art deco obsessed lady-proprietor of this blog. Me.) Her bridal collection has some incredible 1920s style wedding dresses, and (bonus) is extremely reasonably priced. Take a look!

That’s the Art Deco Ball Dress and the A Frond Farewell Dress, both from ModCloth. In the mood for some deco accessories? They’ve got those too, yes they do:
Deco perfect chevron styling of the Feather Your Cap Headband, amazing black and white deco fan Hip Hop Shape Earrings and the feathery Deco Doll Earrings.
Or how about these guys below? I will take either/both of these dresses, thank you and merry Christmas to ME!
That’s a royal blue satin drop-waist dress by Alberta Ferretti, via The Outnet on the left, and the Deco Lace Maxi dress via Miss Selfridge on the right…. gorgeous, no?
