DIY Vintage Wedding | St. Petersburg, Florida | Jessie + Jason
Up today, some beautiful highlights from Jessie and Jason’s charming DIY vintage wedding in St. Petersburg, Florida, via photographer Esther Louise Photography.
“Every single detail for this wedding was steeped in tradition. The bride’s family has a long history in St. Petersburg and they chose the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club as a venue that would celebrate this history – Jessie’s grandparents were members in the club’s early years and their family went there often growing up.”
“When they picked this venue they envisioned a celebration that brought the family together and tied in sentimental details like catering from their favorite restaurant growing up, heirloom quilts that her great grandmother made, signs that her father hand made, table runners her mother sewed, macaroons that her sister baked and a slew of other incredible details and stations that were all hand crafted and curated by her mother.”
“Jessie shortened her mother’s wedding dress and wore it to her rehearsal dinner to kick off the weekend and to represent all of the important women in her family she wore her mother’s purse, her grandmother’s wedding rings and her twin sister’s bracelet. She also wrapped her bouquet with lace from her sister’s wedding gown and finished it with a brooch from her grandmother.”
“Jessie’s grandparents met on the pier during World War 2, so we took all of her wedding portraits there as a nod to that and were so glad that this was a part of her wedding before it was torn down.”
