Inspired by a locale, these Australian art deco invitations are stunning, unique and gorgeously personal. The wedding took place in Perth, on the banks of the Swan River, and the bride asked designer Helen Nowell to create a design incorporating features of Western Australia, included the Kangaroo Paw flower. I really adore these invites, and was so struck by not only their beauty, but also what a wonderful job they do of creating a sense of place, of celebrating the couple and the location. The designer was kind enough to send along some of the sketches that led to the final pieces, and it’s really neat to see the works-in-progress alongside the gorgeous final results.
Some beautiful Art Nouveau elements worked in with the Art Deco, and the overall effect is really fantastic.
